How It Works

Brix measures the percentage of sugar in a solution. Specific Gravity measures density compared to water. Both values are used to estimate sugar content, track fermentation, and calculate alcohol potential.

As fermentation progresses, sugar is converted into alcohol and carbon dioxide, lowering both Brix and gravity readings.
